In-ground poles, installed
The classic front-yard flagpole is a 20 or 25 foot aluminum pole with an external halyard, a gold ball finial and a 3×5 or 4×6 nylon flag. We install it in a ground sleeve set in concrete, so the pole can be lifted out if you ever move. See how we install.
Telescoping and sectional poles
For homeowners who want to do it themselves, a 20-foot telescoping aluminum pole with a ground sleeve goes up in an afternoon. We stock them and can install them too.
House-mount poles and brackets
A six-foot aluminum pole in a two-position bracket beside the front door is the easiest way to fly a flag. Rotating, non-tangle poles keep the flag from wrapping in Florida wind. We carry the poles, brackets, and 2.5×4 and 3×5 flags to fit.
Garden flags and house banners
12×18 garden flags with stands, 2.5×4 house banners for holidays, sports and Gasparilla, and the hardware for both. Our exclusive Gasparilla house banners are sewn, not printed.
Which flag for a house pole?
| Pole | Flag size | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 6 ft house pole | 2.5×4 or 3×5 | Nylon; rotating pole recommended |
| 15 ft in-ground | 3×5 | Nylon |
| 20 ft in-ground | 3×5 or 4×6 | Nylon or heavy weight polyester |
| 25 ft in-ground | 4×6 or 5×8 | Heavy weight polyester holds up better in constant wind if you're on the water, however we almost always recommend nylon |
How long does a flag last?
The Florida sun is hard on a flag. A flag flown outdoors every day typically lasts 6 to 9 months before the colors fade. Heat, UV and afternoon storms all take their toll. Positioning your pole where it can get some shade helps tremendously, though that is not always an option. Bringing the flag in ahead of bad weather helps it last, and replacing it when it starts to fray keeps it looking right. When it is time, bring the old one to the shop and we will see it retired properly.
Made in the USA
Every American flag we sell is made in the United States. We almost always recommend nylon for Florida because it dries fast and resists fading. Heavy weight polyester holds up better in constant wind on the water. Both are in stock at the shop and in our online store with free shipping to the lower 48.
